  First time in the refi process. My situation was also complicated. Aurora and specifically Byron was upfront, organized and was very much a professional.

  Don't waste your time with Aurora. They offer attractive rates, but their service is really lacking. I had to report them to BBB and they were still unresponsive. I ended up getting a similar rate elsewhere, but saved a lot more time. Don't be lured in by the low rate they quote you.

  I was a little skeptical at first about Aurora. Their rates were much lower than their competitors, they promised fast closing and all reviews online were high. They seemed too good to be true. I was working with another lender that we didn't feel comfortable with and was three weeks away from closing. We decided to take a chance on Aurora and we don't regret our decision. Their rates are very low, they have reasonable/low closing costs, and was able to close on time as promised! Their online portal was easy to use and upload documents and made us feel very comfortable and secure. Their documents and instructions were also very clear and simple to follow with no red flags, unlike my previous lender. They were easy to work with and very professional and helpful throughout the process. Byron was fantastic to work with and treats you like a human being. We felt very comfortable with him and would highly recommend him and Aurora in the future to friends and family. Some may feel uncomfortable since they aren't local (located in VA, while I'm in FL), but they are always there and responsive with questions, and couldn't be happier with my decision. My only constructive feedback is that they say they don't need a survey to close which can save you money, but its usually recommended to do it anyways to ensure there's no property line disputes so we decided to get it completed anyways even though Aurora said it wasn't needed. Besides that, overall 100% happy with Aurora. Thank you Byron for making our dream home come true!

  Great customer service!!! Louis T. and Maria B. were both great in assisting me with the refinancing of my FHA loan into a conventional loan. I contacted Louis on 04/03/15 and was able to close on by 04/20/15, but I chose to close later. I was able to obtain the lowest interest rate compared to other lenders I contacted. They worked with Global Title. Denise M. at Global was also great. Between Louis and Denise, my questions were answered quickly, efficiently, and kept me at ease. I would highly recommend Aurora Financial. Everyone involved did a wonderful job. Everything was done via email. The key is to have all of your paperwork ready to go. Definitely an A+ company.

  Aurora Financial did not close on time and failed to honor the company's advertised $1,000 on-time closing guarantee. Aurora Financial admitted fault and gave me a credit of $500, stating that I am ineligible for the $1,000 because my mortgage loan used private mortgage insurance. The on-time closing guarantee has so many conditions I doubt they ever have a situation they deem eligible, but the fact of private mortgage insurance is not one of the posted conditions. I used Aurora Financial for a refinance previously and did not recall any issues so went to use them again. This time for a purchase, they were sorely lacking in timely communication and attention to detail. I called or emailed nearly every day and even stopped by the office to make sure my loan application was moving along. I was not told of any issues until the day of closing, an hour AFTER the scheduled closing time when I was already at the settlement table with my realtor. The settlement company and my real estate agent's broker, and the seller's agent all said they had never dealt with a mortgage company as inadequate as Aurora Financial -- they caused problems for me, the seller, the settlement company, my real estate agent, her broker, plus I had hired a contractor to start work on the house and he lost two days of work. They insisted they would not close without a verbal employment verification, although they knew my employer's policy of not doing this. The loan processor said her mother worked for the same company and she was very familiar with the policy, but she still insisted that I try to challenge my employer's policy and go around them. It was really unbelievable for a mortgage company to ask me to break my company's rules. I was able to get the verification expedited at work the next day (in under 24 hrs) by some miracle and closing happened two days late. The mortgage banker was pleasant enough to deal with but would not take accountability for anything the processing side of the house was doing, where the problems seemed to be. The loan processor sent me requests in a very unprofessional tone in all caps in broken sentences for information I had already provided. Not recommended.
